About Us:
Inclusion Edmonton Region is a local action-based group of families advocating for the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in the Edmonton region and surrounding communities.
We are a member organization of Inclusion Alberta. Together, we share a dream of meaningful family life and community inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities. As an advocacy organization we support individuals and families in their desire to be fully included in community life.
Inclusion Edmonton Region is an independently incorporated family based non-profit society with a volunteer Board of Directors. While Inclusion Edmonton Region is a member association of Inclusion Alberta, we are a distinct organization.

We are committed to enabling children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families to have every opportunity for a good life in community.
For children with intellectual disabilities this means:
Being meaningfully included in their community schools in the general education classroom alongside same age peers
Participating and contributing to recreation activities
Support for the same opportunities as peers to develop friendships, enjoy school and be included in activities in their own communities
For adults with intellectual disabilities this means:
Access to post-secondary education and the possibility of a job in their field of interest, meaningful work for real pay and to enjoy a fulfilled life in community
For family of a person with intellectual disabilities this means:
Having the ability and resources necessary to vision and plan for a fully inclusive life for the child or adult with disabilities in their lives
Inclusive communities invite and value the participation and meaningful contribution of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We believe everyone shares in the responsibility to create and sustain inclusive communities.
