Supporting Inclusive Recreation Outdoors

In June 2022, Inclusion Edmonton Region was invited by the Sierra Club Wild Child program to present on Inclusion and strategies for respectful accommodations. We were thrilled to hear how the Wild Child program is working towards providing inclusive recreation in the Edmonton and area community.

In building our presentation, we reached out to community members Logan Farr and Shyla Masse who provided invaluable insight for the program staff team. Check out this image of Logan working on his presentation while working in Banff! Did you see the deer in window?

A highlight of that presentation was Logan’s insights into his experiences in the great outdoors. Logan shared about why inclusive recreation and in particular, why participating in activities outdoors is so important for everyone, including people with developmental disabilities.
