DONNA DESJARDINS | TREASURER

Donna Desjardins and her husband Ray had been partners in a chartered accounting firm in St. Paul, AB for forty years before retiring 3 years ago, and subsequently moving to Edmonton. They are proud parents of two sons, Robert and Daniel. Donna wears her passion for people with developmental disabilities on her sleeve. But more importantly, she demonstrates her passion on a daily basis. She spent 6 years as a Provincial PDD Board member and 9 1⁄2 years as vice-chair with the Northeast Alberta PDD Community Board. On December 3, 2019, Donna was recognized by the Premier’s Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities and received the Gary McPherson Leadership Award.

Donna has been involved with Inclusion Alberta for over 40 years, chairing committees, attending board meetings and, along with her son, she has attended the Inclusion Alberta’s leadership series. As well, she attended the advanced leadership series and the leadership series for the local groups. Donna has served as President and Treasurer of Inclusion St. Paul, and Vice President of Inclusion Alberta. She is currently serving as Treasurer of Inclusion Alberta and Inclusion Edmonton Region.
