EMILY OUIMET | DIRECTOR-AT-LARGE
Emily currently lives in Edmonton but spent most of her life in Red Deer. She is an advocate for people with disabilities and people with Type 1 Diabetes. This is Emily’s first year as a member of the Inclusion Edmonton Region board. She is a social media whiz with a great sense of humour. She is also in her first year at MacEwan University where she is taking the Social Work program through Inclusive-Post Secondary.
Emily believes that inclusion is the only way to go! She has personally experienced the joy as well as barriers in accessing a fully inclusive life. Emily is passionate about helping other people and advocating for changes. Emily brings her deep understanding of the value of inclusion after her personal experience with segregated placements and the foster care system. She hopes to someday work with children and their families and share her unwavering message of strong healthy inclusive communities for everyone.
